The launch will take the form of a cookery demonstration from one of the 2009 category winners, Matthew Colchester, and two of his colleagues at Reeds restaurant: Andy Rudd and Des Artiss.  The menu at the launch will use ingredients from the 2009 category winners, who were: de-lish Charcuterie (Wells), Mrs Temple’s Cheese, Recruiting Sergeant (Horstead) and St George’s Distillery.

The competition is an opportunity for readers to nominate any individual or business working in or participating in the food or farming industry.  This could involve either creating, producing, cooking or marketing a food product of outstanding quality with passion and enthusiasm. Nominations can range from farmers to fisherman, chefs to butchers or brewers to bakers!

The launch will introduce four new category sponsors in addition to the championship sponsor, Bidwells.

These awards are a great opportunity to celebrate the best of Norfolk and those businesses and individuals who have worked so hard and been so committed to creating local products with passion. Of course the awards are also a great excuse to sample new food and drink and we are very much looking forward to the judging process.”
